The energy in Hull was electric on Sunday, February 16, 2025, as Basketmouth’s YES, I SAID IT! Comedy Tour made history. Hosted at the Albemarle Music Centre, the event was a monumental success, bringing laughter, culture, and entertainment to a sold-out audience. OhentPay, our headline sponsor, made it all possible.
A Grand Welcome with Live Music
The night kicked off with live music from Idan Vibes, setting the perfect tone as guests arrived and took their seats. The smooth Afrobeat rhythms created a vibrant atmosphere, warming up the crowd for the unforgettable night ahead.
The stage also provided a perfect platform for Bryno Wristy to captivate the audience with his soulful melodies. As he performed a selection of his songs, his smooth vocals and heartfelt delivery resonated deeply with the crowd, drawing an enthusiastic response.
As the night drew to a close, Basketmouth invited The Gidi Vibes’ founder, Fágbèmí Osinúgà, on stage to acknowledge the dedication and hard work that brought the event to Hull. To the crowd’s delight, he committed to returning to Hull in 2026—this time in a bigger venue on Saturday, 21 February!
Opening the Show
The event’s MC, Lekan ‘MC Dutch’ Fehintola, took the stage to officially welcome the audience, acknowledging OhentPay’s incredible support in making the show possible.
A special video played on the large screen, sharing testimonials from Nigerians in the diaspora who use OhentPay’s services. To the audience’s surprise, one of the individuals featured in the video was seated among them—prompting cheers and excitement from those who recognised him!

After a hilarious exchange with audience members, MC Dutch built anticipation as he introduced the man of the hour: The Son of Peter, Eze Gburugburu, Bobby Sparkle, Bad Man Bob, Alhaji With The Long Gun, Isi Aki, The Carpenter, Make Way, and Talk Na Do – BASKETMOUTH!

The legendary comedian, known for his dynamic storytelling and sharp wit, took the stage with his signature energy. Encouraging the audience to sit back and enjoy a professionally executed comedy show, he delivered non-stop laughter with seamless joke transitions and engaging crowd interactions.
Introducing the Comedic Line-Up
Throughout the night, Basketmouth shared the stage with a stellar line-up of comedians:
Forever (Akuidolo Orevaoghene) – A graduate of IMT Enugu, Forever captivated the audience with his fresh, intelligent humour.
Koboko Master (Gbadamosi ThankGod Benard) – The Ihievbe-born comedian delivered rib-cracking, issue-based jokes that resonated deeply with the crowd including closing out his set with a hilarious take on the Nigerian vs. American coat of arms.
IGOSAVE – Known for his self-deprecating humour, he had the audience in stitches with jokes about his height and bald head, he delivered a night of non-stop laughter, proving once again why he remains one of Nigeria’s finest comedic talents.

With a thrust stage design that allowed audience members to sit close to the action, Basketmouth’s set felt like an intimate conversation with old friends. His razor-sharp observations about life, relationships, and culture had the crowd roaring with laughter.

This turnout demonstrates that Kingston Upon Hull is quickly establishing itself as a hub for African entertainment in the North of England!
Closing the Night in Style
DJ NAS B wrapped up the evening with an electrifying set featuring songs from The Ghetto Love Story soundtrack. As the crowd slowly exited, many stuck around for photos and meet-and-greet sessions with Basketmouth—bringing an unforgettable night of comedy and culture to a perfect close while others headed to Ritz Showbar for the afterparty.
